Livingston County Sheriff’s Police Sheriff Tony Childress advised that on
09/1/15, at about 7:00 p.m., an ongoing investigation led the Livingston County
Detectives to arrest subjects involved in a multi-county residential burglary ring.
During the investigation, a search warrant was obtained for a residence in
Elwood Illinois where approximately $30,000 worth of stolen items, and two vehicles
were seized as evidence. Subjects were interviewed where they admitted to doing
approximately (41) daytime residential burglaries in Livingston, Kankakee, and Will
Counties.
Jesus DeJesus (Elwood) and Tone Adams (Kankakee) were taken into custody
and have charges pending for possession of stolen property, residential burglary,
unlawful use of weapon, and possession of firearms by a felon. Both were taken to
the Will County Jail where they are currently being held without bond pending an
appearance in front of a Will County Judge.
Agencies involved in the case were Livingston County Sheriff’s Police
Detectives, Will County Sheriff’s Department, Kankakee Co. Sheriff’s Department,
and the Livingston County Proactive Unit. Childress advised the investigation is
ongoing with additional charges and arrests pending.
Sheriff Childress further advises citizens of Livingston County to remain
consistent in keeping your vehicles and homes secured and to report any suspicious
activity when you see it.
The Livingston County Sheriffs Police is still investigating multiple vehicular
Burglaries in the Flanagan/Graymont area. Anyone with information relating to
those events is encouraged to contact the Sheriffs Police.
