PRESS RELEASE 10-04-16

Livingston County Sheriff’s Police

PRESS RELEASE 10-04-16

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Police and surrounding Agencies have been fielding a number of calls in reference to “Clowns” in the area. There have been no substantiated claims, by any local police agency, of anyone dressed as a clown committing any crime at this point.

All persons are reminded that any report to the police is taken seriously and false reports will be investigated and the possibility of charges filed for making a false police report.

Also, persons knowingly and without lawful authority entering or remaining within or on a building; entering upon the land of another, after receiving, prior to the entry, notice from the owner or occupant that the entry is forbidden; remaining upon the land of another, after receiving notice from the owner or occupant to depart, may face charges for criminal trespass.

If anyone sees suspicious persons or vehicles, please contact 9-1-1 when it occurs. Deputies are available at all hours, day or night. The Sheriff’s Office and surrounding Agencies would rather investigate a suspicious person, than a break-in to your residence. YOUR information may be what leads to solving a crime.

The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to be vigilant in securing their vehicles, out buildings, and homes.

Anyone, with information regarding any crime, is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (815)844-0911, by email through the Sheriff’s Office Webpage, livingstoncountysheriff.com, or on Facebook at Livingston County Sheriff. Again, YOUR information may be what leads to solving a crime.
